The Rise Of Short-form Content And Marketing - Is It Good Or Bad?

In today’s time, writing good content with effective strategies is becoming core and considerable for content writers, freelancers, authors etc. With proper actions, scripts and modifications, a quality content can be made for blogging, writing articles, E-mails, posts and marketing etc.

Short-form Content : Meaning

By above statement, you are now acquainted with Content Writing. Now the question arises is that, what actually is Short-form content? Content with words around 800-1000 can be reckoned as Short-form Content. It can be Social media post’s captions, Email etc. Short form content works great for placed companies etc. because of customer’s belief with that particular company.

What is Marketing?


Marketing is anything that deals with selling or buying of commodities, services and earns their profit. Now-a-days the trend of traditional marketing is becoming useless. More than of half population are becoming digital and public spends their majority of time online, through which the old days of traditional marketers are gone and digital marketers are taking much benefits.

Digital marketing is term that deals with marketing but digitally. Likewise marketing, digital marketing also promotes their products, services online. There are great benefits of doing marketing online as it overcomes the cost of promoting of products, services as compared to traditionally.

In my view opinion, the pros and cons of Short-form marketing and long-form marketing is closely related.


Why Short form content/Marketing is in trend?

1. Time Conserving – No doubt that Short-form content and marketing stand in need of saving time. Content with around 1000 words can be written with minimum amount of time and can be readable with efficiency.

2. Takes Fewer Resources/Investments – Short-form Content and marketing doesn’t requires much investments for allocation of resources. For writing short content with good strategies requires mainly creativity and ideas for which center of attention is on protagonist.

3. Stability – “Consistency is the key to Success” with this quote, we keep on moving forward with each steps and that’s what the superiority of Short-form content. Content can be published efficiently and effectively with creative ideas.

4. Adaptable for Mobile users – Since the length of Short-form content is short, so it’s accessible for smartphone users. Smartphone friendly is the best advantage of short form content since users of mobile phones are much larger than a users of PC or laptop.

According to source, 56.16% traffic for websites are majorly by smartphones. So it’s advantageous for short form content and marketing.

5. Quick Observing  – As short form content's focal point is majorly on main term and it’s main principals beyond it’s depth so it can be inspect quickly. Established sites or firms have much advantage of Quick Observing for their existing customers.

Short-form Content and Marketing – Downside

1. Lack of Detailed Information – Since the Short form content and marketing is always in brief around 800 to 1000 words so it majorly interdict viewers to get full detailed information of a topic. Such type of content is not much relevant for new users and for new companies.

2. Hardly ranks on search engine – It is the major downside of Short-form content which hardly gives rankings on search engine organically. Long-form content and marketing gives rankings on search engine organically.

3. Not great performance – Since the length of short form content and marketing is short as compared to long form content, it skips many information regarding the topic. If viewers doesn’t get content as per their need, then they are not considered to spend their time on site by which the performance of site becomes low.



Cessation – Short-form Content and Short-form Marketing is Good or Bad?

In my view opinion, established company can grasp the benefits of Short-form content and short form marketing since majority of the viewers are friendly and are trusted with established companies.

                On the other hand, companies with not so much popularity and are not well-established should avoid Short-form Content and Short-form Marketing as it reduces their rankings in SEO (Search Engine Optimization), since there are many factors by which websites are unable to rank in SEO. It is necessary to build trust within the customers and viewers, in order to increase viewers or customers for their websites.

It is also to be noticeable that people are only concentrating on length of the content in order to rank in SEO (Search Engine Optimization). Focusing on quantity rather than quality of content is useless as it may ranks in Search Engine Optimization for a period of time but if viewers will not spend their time on website then automatically ranking goes down. So to stay in the position, quality based content is must.

Since short form content and marketing if not updated time to time then it will surely overcomes the performance of website. And in long form content and marketing, it’s performance is expected for long-lasting.

So the conclusion is that, maintaining a good balance on Short-form and long-form marketing and content is to be preferable. Through insights, one can see the performance of websites and can be able to determine what type of content their users are taking interest and gaining new users.
